Hi Charles,

Do you still have the Discover Bank Online Savings Account? I just found out about it tonite and was impressed with the APY. Have you noticed that it has fluctuated very much over the past year? It's currently 1.15% but I see that last July it was 1.35%. Just curious because I don't want to open it and then have it drop to like .50%. Hope to hear back from you!

Lena,
Yeah, I would never suggest opening a Bank of America savings account. Their rate is probably something ridiculously as low as 0.25%. That means if you have $10,000 in your account, in one year, you'll have a total of $10,025. Next time, consider opening a High Yield Online savings account, which are typically 4-5x the national average. They can offer much higher rates due to less overhead costs.

But you're right, what is done is done and your wedding is coming up soon. It's probably not worth the effort of opening up such an account now.

mmm hello why no financial advice for Daena before we opened our Bank of America savings account?
but you know i looked at our account history and we actually accrue very little by having the savings account in terms of any interest given to us. Eh ... whatever. what is done is done.
